Keith Ruck, Senior Director at Pine Hill Group recently participated on a panel on Post M&A Integration Strategies. The panelists examined and discussed the issues facing the implementation of different processes, people, markets and culture into a new organization with a new vision for the combined company. The event was sponsored by The New Jersey CFO Leadership Council, and took place on Tuesday morning, December 8th @ 8:00 a.m. at the offices of KPMG. 

Pine Hill Group announces the retirement of Steve Nardi, Managing Director. Since co-founding the firm in 2007, Steve has been responsible for providing services to a vast number of Pine Hill Group's public and private clients.

In the early years, Steve helped to build the firm brand and reputation, and was responsible for helping to create a far-reaching awareness of Pine Hill Group in the marketplace.

As a recognized leader in technical accounting, his sound technical advice to clients has been the backbone upon which the firm's reputation has been built. His background, which includes years of public accounting experience, coupled with the industry perspective that co-founder Chuck Jacobson brought to the table, enabled Pine Hill Group to provide a unique full-service experience to their clients as the firm was built.

Pine Hill Group recently hosted an ethics seminar in which Allison M. Henry, CPA - Vice President, Professional & Technical Standards of the PICPA gave an overview of ethical standards that have been issued by AICPA, state society, and state board authorities.

The session explored the latest developments in professional ethics, including the new codification of the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, recent changes to the Code of Professional Conduct, & hot topics under consideration by the regulatory and standard setting bodies. The discussion explored how diverse and emerging trends, such as changes in technology, social media, and evolving workplace expectations, challenge the lines in professional ethics.

Gaeton Biscardi, Managing Director of IPO Readiness and SEC Compliance at the Pine Hill Group joined other renowned experts who will be examined the latest developments and trends in the regulatory landscape, accounting, corporate governance, and crucial issues facing corporate and securities law practitioners and finance professionals.

Gaeton served on a panel that explored recent developments and issues surrounding technical accounting at the Union League of Philadelphia.

Pine Hill Group Risk Advisory Services Director Rob Frye delivered a presentation on internal audit to graduate students of Temple University’s Fox School of Business. Rob is a graduate of the Fox School of Business, and was invited to speak to the graduate students by Temple’s Director of the Master of Accountancy Program, Sheri Risler. The presentation covered a variety of material related to internal audit, but mainly focused upon the types of internal audit projects and initiatives that are most frequently being employed by companies in today’s market place.

Between the Liberty Bell and the famed cheesesteak, Philly is already a lively town. Tack on a thriving tech scene, and this historical city is handily heading into the 21st century.

In particular, biotech is sweeping the city. Thanks to the University City Science Center, which started as an urban revitalization project and is now a science startup incubator, Philly is becoming the go-to place to launch a medical or health tech startup.
